Dian Suci Rahmawati is a multimedia artist. Her practice lies at the intersection of domestic narratives and the political power of the states, often featuring women in conversation with the artist herself about multifaceted issues on the domestication of women’s politics, authoritarianism and fascism, patriarchy, and capitalism.
In 2009, Dian graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the Indonesia Islamic University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She has participated in group exhibitions including ‘On Connectivity’ at Kohesi Initiatives (2022); ‘Broken White Project: Tropenwelle’ at Mizuma Gallery (2022); and at Biennale Jogja XV Equator: ‘Do We Live in the Same Playground’ at Jogja National Museum (2019). In 2021, Dian was awarded the Gold Winner in the Established Artist Category at the UOB Painting of the Year Indonesia.
